Water Contaminated with Benzene “People might say you can’t buy happiness,” says Attorney Joseph Yurgine, of the suit. “It’s justice.” $20 million of the settlement will reportedly go to fixing the contaminated water mains that are linked to homes. A spokesman for Shell Oil says that after finding out about the benzene that was contaminating water in resident’s homes, the company’s main concern was the health and safety of those being exposed.
