"Man Files Suit Claiming Benzene Exposure"

September 6, 2007

A previous employee at the KMCO plant has filed a suit against the company alleging that they are to blame for his cancer.

The suit, which was filed last week, states that the working conditions at the plant were unhealthy and as a result of his exposure to benzene, the worker developed lymphocytic leukemia.

Allegations Against Former Employer

Armando Torres was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia and believes his former employer is to blame for his illness.

During his time working at the plant, Torres reportedly worked with various solvents, including the carcinogen, benzene.

According to the suit, Torres believes his exposure to the harmful chemicals had an impact on his current state.

KMCO Plant Named as Defendant

KMCO is a plant that specializes in processing chemical product lines for clients.

“Our clients represent many of the largest, most respected corporations in the world,” states a spokesman for the plant.

Torres Seeks Justice

According to the suit, Torres doesn't hope to gain any compensation in the suit, instead he simply wishes for a further investigation to be done on the plant for future workers and for his own peace of mind.
