
Benzene News"Helena Labs Sued for Benzene Exposure" June 5, 2008 The husband of a former employee of Beaumont bio-medical company has filed a benzene suit on his wife’s behalf. The suit claims that as a result of benzene exposure the plaintiff’s wife developed leukemia, which eventually took her life. Husband Takes Action Warren Holub, the husband of Sandra Sue Holub, filed the suit against Helena Laboratories, along with seven other defendants, for his wife’s wrongful death. Among the other defendants named in the suit are, Chevron USA and Huntsman Petrochemical. Suit Details In the suit, Holub claims that his wife was repeatedly exposed to benzene while employed for Helena Labs. “Holub worked with and around benzene and benzene containing products in the capacity of her employment,” states the suit. Holub also accuses the defendants of knowing that benzene could cause life-threatening illnesses but didnothing to protect or educate their employees on the subject.
